Lake Kaitalampi / Lago de Kaitalampi / Lac de Kaitalampi

In English:

This long, sinuous lake is quite near to Helsinki. Only 30 minutes by bus and then one can walk, to fish using fishing rod, to swim and to drink and to eat in grill sheds one’s supply. My wife loves Nordic walking and that is why she is using walking poles. On both sides of this lake are nice cliffs.

  3. A very beautiful place.Do the paths let you walk right around the lake? We have hundreds of lakes, but usually they are surrounded by dense forest and so there are not long walks. We too love walking and so have to find some of the National and Provincial Parks with long trails. Kayaking is good as we can get to places that we can’t get to on foot.

    • Hello Jackiqueen.

In this case yes, there is the path around the lake. When in question it is huge lake it is not so, but might be. We have many parks where one can hike long trips or shorter ones. In more to the North than this lake, I have hiked in three day a “circuit of bear” = its name translated from Finnish. It is 80 kilometers long. But it was when I was young. People who like Kayaking of course do it also on lakes, but in many cases on rivers which connect lake to another.

      Thank You commenting. Happy weekend!

    • Hello Kateri.

You are so right. It was very nice day and quite calm, which can be seen in the photo number 20 or in number 19 when seeing reflections of trees in water. Thank You taking a walking tour “with me”.

  5. Good evening, Matti
the view of the lake is beautiful, and everything around the lake. There, everyone can recover from everyday stress and breathe clean air. Nordic walking is a sport that is shown here too. The reflections in the lake, They reflect more than masterly and brilliant, in your pictures. Everything is great and perfectly reproduced. They photographed the gulls flying very perfect, so I had the feeling that they fly into my room. The complete view of your pictures gives me a feeling of freedom and peace in this place. I am very pleased to have seen this page. On the next pages I’m already looking forward. I wish you and Anja all the best for your health and daily ways. Thank you for all your nice comments on my web page. Dear greetings, Christel

    • Good morning Christel.

Thank You for You visit on my site. It was interesting to read that also in Germany Nordic Walking is known. Here many men are also doing it, but I am not. I have promised to use my sticks when we go to some “mountain”, then they are useful, I think.

      Happy Saturday.

Bon dimanche!
PS: les goélands sont superbement saisis!

  11. Amazing! I’m glad I was able to stop by your blog and check out your photos; these caught my eye – they’re very serene and captures nature at its best! What a beautiful camera and skills to be able to take those photos of the seagulls.. actually many of these lakescapes remind me of the scenes I paint in watercolor because of the awesome reflections of the trees in the water. ^_^ I look forward to seeing more of your photography!

    • Emily, I agree You, because in Helsinki on marketplace (right in harbour) they are “stealing” from people everything one is eating. There are so many children who has lost their ice cream for example. This individual which flew very near to me was defending its nearby nest on a small island (photo 11).
