In English:
Rock church or officially “church of Temppeliaukio” in Helsinki.
This church is just in the centre of Helsinki. Church is built in rock. It is one of the most popular place to be visited in Helsinki. It was built in 1969 by bothers Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen. Its roof is copper dome “bouncing” out of the rock and it can be seen barely outside.
Between roof and rock there are 180 glass which give natural light inside. The acoustics of church is excellent and that is why there are many concerts. The name Rock church is suitable name or could it be “rocking church”, because there are really Rock concerts sometimes.

What an incredible building …so modern …but somehow natural…and the organ is quite something else.

Bisous.

Very cool church! You are very lucky to be surrounded with so much history and so many churches! Our churches pretty much look the same as the next. What a great setting for a wedding, too!

Hi Emily. Thank You for Your kind words but I am thinking that I have nothing to be shown to those who have so great country.

Good evening Matti,
The Rock Church is unique. Something I never saw before. Everything is furnished
in simple and yet it looks very interesting and beautiful. I think, so everyone can concentrate on the words of the preacher better. Much pomp in the church to draw from the true sense of the place off. Although I also like to look sumptuously furnished Churches, remains the real meaning of this place, for me, always remain in my heart. It is a place of silence and prayer.
I admire this side of your blog. You present it in color, very natural and brilliant. In a picture I saw a light water mirror on the wall outside the church. It looked very interesting. I will continue to try to visit your blog regularly. It gives me pleasure to look at your pictures and share your world, be allowed to. I wish you and Anja a good time, health and happiness to your daily routes.
Dear greetings Christel
