Flowers and birds / Flores y pájaros / Fleurs et d’oiseaux / Flores e pássaros

In English:

Flowers and birds

The tittle of this post could have been also: On both side of the border. Why so? Therefore, the pictures which I shot, have been taken, from Helsinki side and Espoo side. Flowers (7) are from the both side, three first bird photos from Espoo side. Rest of bird photos are art photos. Four first of them are situated in Leppävaara, Espoo. Rest are ere situated in Helsinki on the Helsinki side.

When living near to the border of Espoo and Helsinki, it offers shooting photos from the both sides. In the forest, there are no boundary markers naturally.

Those four bird art photos, which are in Espoo, present Northern Goshawk, are wall murals ( Street painting called Kraa). Artist is called Jussi TwoSeven. These are close to the mall Sello, Leppävaara, Espoo in the underpass. There is fast train to Leppävaara from Helsinki.

Rest seven photos show a large two-headed gilt bird made of bronze with wingspan about 2 meters. It is called I Am East I Am West created by Pekka Jylhä. More information at the link at the end of this post. These art sculptures can be reach by bus number 18 from Helsinki. Final stop is Muusantori, Taiteentekijäntie. From there, it is about 100 meters walk. So, “easy-peasy” to go there.

• Hello Carol.

Thank you. I did find bird sculpture awesome, when seeing it for the first time. Then I tried to shoot photos using my phone, not good. Few days later I returned with my digital camera.

      Happy new week!

Those paintings are big and because they are in a tunnel they were nearly as “big ” as they are in my photos. 🙂 Thank you leaving your comment.

  3. Hello Mr. Matti,
How wonderful to see birds and flowers from both sides of the border! The vibrant colors make me smile. I also love both the wall piano and sculpture. It’s great to see nature incorporated into art. Wish you a great week!

  4. These are such lovely photos! Good job!
Do you fluently speak all four languages??
I myself am fluent in English and Spanish, French is a distant third and Portuguese is a distant fifth!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Comment by intrepid8 — July 6, 2020 @ 09:10 | Reply

    • Hello intrepid8.

Well, fluently – no! For example, I learnt Spanish while working in Las Palmas during 4½ months in 1969. I learnt to speak but not to write. I just listened people’s talk and watched TV. That’s it. Music helped me not to forget it. Thank you commenting.

      Happy new week!

      Comment by Sartenada — July 6, 2020 @ 09:37 | Reply

      • That’s pretty neat! Which type of Spanish do you speak? European or Latin?

        You too!

        Comment by intrepid8 — July 6, 2020 @ 10:01 | Reply

        • Well, On the Canary Islands their Spanish is nearer to Latin, I guess. This means that easier to understand me. I have watched TV-station in Internet and love the Latin sound. My daughter who worked three months in Chile, speaks Latin and her boyfriend is Peruvian. I have had friends from Mexico and from Costa Rica and they have taught me words from Latin Spanish. Also, I have few hundreds of Cumbia music, from Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Guatemala, not from Spain, except those which I bought from Las Palmas while working there. Many of those disks are sung by South American Musicians like Palito Ortega from Argentina.

Sorry for late comment. We just returned home from “reindeer road trip” to Lapland. This means that we made a road trip and met plenty of reindeers! It seems to be possible to offer four posts where reindeers everywhere; on the hired summer cottage and on the middle of roads. Of course, there will be many other local northern sights in my posts. Tomorrow I will present Berlin. Then within two weeks I have organized my photos and can publish first reindeer road trip. Thank you commenting.
