In English:
Terracotta army.
It was in October 2013 when we traveled to the town of Tampere to visit the exhibition of Terracotta Army and the treasures of first Emperors of China in Vapriikki. Vapriikki is a museum Centre that, organizes high quality exhibitions. Tampere has more than 225000 inhabitants and by train from Helsinki, the train trip lasts about 2½ hours.
The exhibition:
It was in 1974, when the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi was discovered. The tomb revealed nearly 8000 warriors and its age was more than 2000 years old. Those solders guarded the tomb and more excavations revealed many precious items like gold and jade and not only these precious things but also things, which man needed in everyday life. Ancient Chinese believed that life after death continued in the similar way then before the death. The exhibition of Vapriikki presented for example first emperor’s bronze carriage and other objects found from the tomb.
After my photos, I give links to Vapriikki and to some other sites that provide additional information about the Terracotta army.

Hello Marion.
You are right. Tampere is absolutely worth for a visit. Last winter we visited there watching a comedy in a theatre. Spending a weekend and theatre is nice combination. We have done these kinds of weekend visits in many towns in Finland. Next weekend We’ll go to the theatre in Pori. We Finns love comedies and they are very popular among people. I just wonder if You have visited these two places in Tampere:
Pispala
Angry Birds and city of Tampere.
Have a wonderful day!

Yes, I’ve visited Pispala in mid-winter when it looked beautiful as I’m certain it does all the time but I’ve not yet been to Angry Birds. Hope to return to Tampere again soon.

They are remarkable, it must be fantastic to see in real life. Very well captured, especially those behind the glass.
Comment by Tokeloshe. — April 26, 2019 @ 21:35 |
Hello Linda.
Thank You for Your kind comment. You were the first one who noticed that things behind the glass are not easy to shoot photos. Exhibitors situate lights so that they point to camera lens also, not only to things. It is in some case difficult to find the right place for photographing. Also, photographer has to notice other people.
Happy weekend!

Sartenada, Good evening.
Terracotta Army!
That is amazing, isn’t it? Thousands of replicas?
There is also a powerful like lining up.
It seems to be made by changing one’s face
I can feel the feelings of the people at that time.
I heard it for the first time in the town of Tampere.
It’s very close to Helsinki.
Comment by ❤ちえたん — April 30, 2019 @ 20:08 |
こんにちは ちえたん !.
This Morning we had in our biggest newspaper a very nice story about Naruhito (天皇) and Reiwa (令和). We Finns are interested in the Japanese Imperial Family.
Tampere is beautiful town and it is connected by train to Helsinki. Fastest train goes in one hour and 32 minutes between these two towns.
Thank You commenting so nicely my blog. I am glad that You loved my photos.

What a stunning exhibition of the Terracotta Army and treasures of ancient China. What is so striking about the exhibition are the numerous soldiers in the army: they look so similar but grouped together, they look like a force and power to be reckoned with. There will be a similar exhibition here in Melbourne in the coming months. So looking forward to it. Amazing photography and such clarity in your close-ups. Well worth the travel for a good day. Hope you have been well, Sartenada 🙂
