Alpine model railway exhibition
It was beautiful Saturday when visited this exhibition. Here is the list what we saw there:
Alpine houses, fire trucks, railway bridges, buses, church, town hall, fresh good shop, cargo containers, cranes, Ferris wheel, walls of old town, tunnels, factory, delivery vans, long-distance trucks, photographer, depot, mountains, railway station, home animals, farm, coffee shop, newsagent’s, service station, patrol car, helicopter, intercity train, excavator, department store, drive-in bank called Sparbank (auf Deutsch Autoschalter), taxis, electric hybrid bus and something more.
We never have seen model railways, so it was interesting to see them live. The length of the track was 511 meters / 1677 ft. It has been built for 20 years. Our photography tactics was that I shoot photos using my camera, my wife using my quite new phone and that we are not at the same place at the same time. Sounds good and it was really, because we both saw same things in a different way. Because I own only a zoom lens 28-300, it was not the best lens to shoot photos. Finally, when viewing my photos, I was quite content.
Amazing thing was that phone photos “nearly” beat my photos and in some cased they did. The phone is equipped with artificial intelligence, which maybe is the good reason to achieve good results. Enjoy and compare photos. First, I present 20 camera photos and the rest are phone photos.
Those who have hawk eyes, can compere photos 20 and 21. They are quite similar, the photo 20 I shot with my camera and the photo 21 shot my wife with phone.

Nunca hemos visto modelismo ferroviarios, así que fue muy interesante verlos en vivo. La longitud de la pista fue de 511 metros / 1677 pies. Se ha construido durante 20 años. Nuestra táctica de fotografía era que tomaba fotos con mi cámara, que mi esposa usaba mi teléfono bastante nuevo y que no estábamos en el mismo lugar al mismo tiempo. El teléfono está equipado con inteligencia artificial, lo que tal vez sea la buena razón para lograr buenos resultados. Disfruta y compara fotos. En primer lugar, presento 20 fotos de cámara y el resto son fotos de teléfono.
Los que tienen ojos de halcón, pueden comparar las fotos 20 y 21. Son bastante similares, la foto 20 que sacó con mi cámara y la foto 21, le sacó mi esposa con el teléfono.

Nous n’avons jamais vu de trains miniatures, il était donc intéressant de les voir vifs. La longueur de la piste était de 511 mètres / 1677 pieds. Elle a été construite depuis 20 ans. Notre tactique de photographie était que je prenne des photos avec mon appareil-photo numérique, ma femme avec mon tout nouveau téléphone et que nous ne soyons pas au même endroit au même moment. Cela sonne bien et c’était vraiment, parce que nous avons tous deux vu les mêmes choses d’une manière différente. Comme je ne possède qu’un objectif zoom 28-300, ce n’était pas le meilleur objectif pour prendre des photos. Enfin, lors de la visualisation de mes photos, Enfin, lors de la visualisation de mes photos, j’ai été ravi.
Ce qui est étonnant, c’est que les photos prises avec téléphone ont “presque” battues mes photos et, dans certains cas, elles l’ont fait. Le téléphone est équipé d’une intelligence artificielle, ce qui constitue peut-être une bonne raison d’obtenir de bons résultats. Profitez et comparez les photos. Premièrement, je présente 20 photos de mon caméra numérique et le reste, photos prises avec mon téléphone cellulaire..

Bonjour Maly. J’ai une question concernant la langue française. Je lis tous les jours des livres en français (mes livres préférés sont les vieux livres d’anticipation) avant de m’endormir. J’ai de nombreux dictionnaires français, un livre sur les locutions et même le Petit Robert 1, mais maintenant j’ai trouvé une locution que je ne comprends pas. J’ai aussi consulté Internet, mais aucune aide. Chaque mot est français, mais le contenu, je ne comprends pas.
Voici une phrase: “Dantroff, jette-moi dehors ce Terranien par reconnaissance par le ventre!” Bien,Qu’est-ce que ça veut dire: reconnaissance par le ventre?

bonjour Matti, je comprends que tu ne trouves pas car on dit plutôt “reconnaissance du ventre”
si tu as bien recopié la phrase complète du livre, c’est du ‘mauvais’ français car on ne dit jamais deux fois ‘par’ (c’est trop ‘lourd’, ça n’est pas une ‘belle’ phrase’)
“la reconnaissance du ventre” c’est un témoignage de reconnaissance pour ceux qui vous ont nourri ou aidé de façon importante
est-ce que cette définition, cette expression correspond au contexte (à l’histoire) de ton livre?

Grand merci. Maintenant je le comprends. J’ai à la maison environ1500 livres en français, J’ai lus deux fois et même trois fois. Chaque fois, je trouve quelque chose de nouveau et d’expressions que j’ai oubliées. Une de mes expressions préférées est: manger les pissenlits par la racine ou casser sa pipe. En finnois nous disont: Jeter sa manivelle. 🙂

It is a wonderful train diorama! I think that fine making of railroad cars, townscapes, buildings, cars, etc. is brilliant.
The smart camera function no longer requires a compact digital camera due to the evolution of image processing technology. I think that I have not reached the image quality of a digital single lens reflex camera.

If you just shoot normally, the phone camera is enough

I have started also bring my camera with, when going outside. I love its feature to calculate my steps. We walk daily, if possible, about 10000 steps, varying between 16000 to 5000 steps.

Hi, Matti. As usual, you all outdid yourselves. And, yes. Phones nowadays are amazing.
I don’t own a cell phone (because I hate talking on the phone) but, sometimes at church, folks see me taking photos and they ask me to photograph them with their phones. And, for just a few moments, I fall in love— until I come to.
My Coolpix A900 is my third eye— my constant companion that travels with me everywhere without ringing, buzzing, making noises, or expecting me to respond somehow— so I’m good.
But, yes. Photos 20 and 21 BOTH look pretty good! And it’s nice to know, as I’ve sometimes learned, that the phone is a good backup for when I forget my extra battery and Steven can simply snap the shot.

I love a good railway. The houses are very German/ Alpine and some even have German writing on it. I love those houses ‘ Fachwerk haus’ and the little details like the people swimming in the little lake, the digger etc. . We used to have a big one and I loved building the houses. Now they are just in a box…. one day…. There is one house in there which looks like the mayors house at my mum’s village. Just beautiful.

Lovely photos, Matti! Good thinking to have two different perspectives while photographing. I can definitely tell the difference between the camera and the phone.
Did you speak to any of the people running the trains? I had a long conversation with one man, and he told me all about the enormous display of model trains in Hamburg.

Thank You. In my mind I cannot find big difference between the camera and the phone. I find the phone is better in this case. The artificial intelligence treats better photos than my camera. You should read its specs. There is one of hundreds in Internet:

I have tested that in the dark, I can take photos free hand. Think, keeping the phone free hand during three seconds, the artificial intelligence makes sure that the photos are crisp.
There are three cameras in this phone and it combines them all to one awesome photo. Of course, there are professional setting, if needed, like Iso setting, max 6400, lowest 64, shutter speed fastest is 1/4000, EV settings etc. It also contains presettings for special situations, like shooting water falls, night traffic and much more. Is battery keeps it functional few days. I have been looking few movies and the battery consumption is mimal. Nowadays there is a newer version available.

Both your own photos, as well as those taken by your wife with a phone camera, were excellent. Camera optics in phones have improved radically recently. (One of our grandsons enlightened us on the subject over the Christmas holidays.) I am now fully retired from teaching, although I still keep up the Cygnaeus School English Class blog, From time to time I substitute, but some health issues have occasionally interfered with that this autumn. Keep on taking photographs, Matti, and posting them on your blog. They are definitely appreciated by many!
