In English:

Annual Quilt show in Vaasa. Part 3.

It was in March when we drove to the town of Vaasa to visit annual nationwide Quilt show. The distance to Vaasa from Helsinki is 422 kilometers / 262 miles. This means that we stayed overnight there and enjoyed our mini holiday.

I took plenty of nice photos and due to that I had to divide them into three parts. This part has 51 photos. Enjoy Quilts and Patchwork.

The kitten with the ball of red wool was also brilliant… but that said, there were LOTS of quilts here that I would have very very happily taken home!!!

  27. The quilts from the link you sent to me were so amazingly done by such talented artist. The smaller ones reminds me of my Aunt back in Iowa… She and I would sit at the dining room table and I’d watch her fingers pressing the pieces together working her magic on a quilt. She made me a doll blanket, quilted with a little red school house and children walking to the door of the school. Crafting in so many ways tells a story about the artist, and what their dreams are made of.. I loved this link that you sent to me and I thank you from my heart. Your wife is very talented, also with many different areas within her art. I can almost see her sweet heart that’s filled with love through her crafts, turned into masterpieces… Thank you again my friend for the link, and between you and me the quilt with the two cows peeking out from the barn touched me… memories of my vacations in Iowa with my grandmothers sisters and brothers… The men all farmers, and the women all gardeners and crafts masters..

Take care and happy blogging to ya, from Laura ~

    • Hi Laura.

How warm hearted comment full with lovely memories. She is very happy when reading your praising comment. She is a person who has to have something under preparation all the time. She wants to develop her skills in different areas. Personally my favorite is after years: How to make a beaded bracelet?. Once she taught to make Finnish traditional Christmas decoration called Himmeli: Himmeli – how to make it. To reuse empty coffee bags was nice in idea which she taught thoroughly: Bags from empty coffee bags. Nice continuation to was: Evening bag .

At this moment she is testing new areas. Once more thank You. Happy Sunday. Matti.
