Annual Quilt show in Vaasa. Part 2.
It was in March when we drove to the town of Vaasa to visit annual nationwide Quilt show. The distance to Vaasa from Helsinki is 422 kilometers / 262 miles. This means that we stayed overnight there and enjoyed our mini holiday.
I took plenty of nice photos and due to that I had to divide them into three parts. This part has 50 photos. Enjoy Quilts and Patchwork.

Amazing – and overwhelming with so many beautiful quilts, I tried to choose some favorites, but it is quite impossible: there are almost only beautiful works here! Can’t you get this show to Denmark – then I’m the first in line when it opens! I do not recall hearing about a show like this in Denmark ….
Comment by Truels — October 19, 2012 @ 23:41 |
Hi Truels.
Thank You. Finn Quilt and other Nordic quilters arrange quilt shows in Nordic countries. This summer there was a quilt show in Ålborg. Here is the link:
NQT 2012 / Lapptäcksfesten i Ålborg 18-20 maj 2012.
Quilters are very active people and they travel around the world in different quilt shows. My wife has ordered “Journal of the hobby of Finn Quilt” and it is awesome with its photos.
Lykkelig lørdag.

God weekend til dig også! (Jeg ser du også taler dansk 😉 )
Thanks for the link, if I had known this, I would have considered a trip to Aalborg that weekend, but now I have to go to Norway in 2 years ….. – Or wait 12 years for the next meeting in Denmark!)

Thank You. Quilts around the world have something common, but they differ also from those quilted in other countries. That’s the interesting point to see something different and maybe something national in every country.

Oh, thank You teaching that word! I love it. Tansi is easy for us Finns to remember, because we have very similar word “tanssi” meaning dancing. I am happy that You did give forward my post to one of Your quilt friend. This one was the ninth quilt post and the next will be published so late as sometimes next spring.

Our Sunday is just dawning…..looks to be a gorgeously warm one. Hope to get out on the motorcycles after morning church. A quick stop at the camper (parked for 1 more week at the campground on the edge of LaCrosse, WI, on the Mississippi River). Put a link to your wonderful blog on my site to “spread the love”. The hobby of quilting such as your photos is popular in Japan.
But there are better many works than Japan because Europe is best place.
