  1. Brilliant. I had no idea that Finns had a samba carnival. Looks very authentic, the costume, the parade, etc. Maybe Brazilian women tend to a little bolder and wear a little less, but then I guess Finland is a little more conservative than Brazil. The photos are great. I have enjoyed the visits to your blog and I was just thinking about adding it to my Blogger’s Cafe, which I will do in the next ten minutes: http://avarchives.blogspot.com listed in Library 2 – Photography Blogs, come on over and check it out in a few minutes.

  2. Hi,I have just been recommending your site to a friend and she asked if Finland wasn’t the country that was hooked on the Tango? I see this was a Samba festival, is the Tango popular too? Do you dance the Tango?

    • Hi Jackiequeen.

      Answer is: Yes!!!

We have every summer Tango festivals in Seinäjoki. Tango is still popular here but it has lost its charm, because the young people has different music taste. During summer we have open air dancing pavilions which are popular and in there youth has found slowely again tango. We have plenty of our own tangos and some has been imported to Argentina also. Malando’s orchestra has playd Finnish tangos in one album full. Watch for my letter.

Thank You asking this because I am dancing tango as my wife also.

  3. Oi Matti!

      Feliz Domingo! Matti.

Nunca hubiera imaginado una fiesta brasileira in Helsinki…….

    • Hola Anna.
