Old Rauma / Vieja Rauma / Vieille Rauma

In English:

Old Rauma – area full of old wooden houses in Rauma.

It was in July when we decided to visit the Annual Lace Week in Rauma. My wife was eager to see this old tradition how to make lace crafts and me those famous old wooden houses there. Lace, that we did not see, but those old houses yes. My wife was delighted when we found an exhibition of patchworks and quilting. I’ll show later photos from this exhibition.

Old Rauma is huge area with 600 buildings full of old wooden houses. They are not museum houses, but people live in them. This is great tradition. Also Old Rauma is found on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

    Amicalement

  3. Good afternoon, Matti
First I would like to thank you for the beautiful photos of the patchwork blankets. Perhaps I am trying to sew myself a blanket. I will inquire about how it is done. Now about this page here, I’ve clicked. Everything looks very clean and romantic. The colorful buildings and the architecture of other buildings is very interesting and I like that. The locomotive, the church and the big black bear that fell on me. It must be nice to spend the holiday there. The sun was shining as I could see, and therefore the colors are all very natural. When you look at the pictures, create the feeling of standing in place and to experience everything with. They have presented everything very exemplary and brilliant. I thank you for letting me watch it again for me. I continue to try to visit your blog and wish you and Anja, good luck and health to your daily routes. Dear greetings Christel

    • Hi Christel.

You are welcome. That what You think being church is not; it is “Alt Rathaus”, but it does not matter. I am delighted that You liked my photos and took a walking tour in old Rauma.

    • Hello Doda.

On our west coast line, there are many old towns of this kind with wooden houses. I love this small town and try to visit there when it is possible. Thank You commenting.

      Have a nice day!
