Holiday in Italy – Sorrento

Some years ago, we made an organized tour to Sorrento, Italy. Why Sorrento? We knew that it was a beautiful small town. In 2016 its population was about 16609 inhabitants. Sorrento offered a nice way to make short excursions on one’s own to the nearby places like Capri, Vesuvius and Pompeii. We also visited Naples, but I did not shoot many photos from there and that is why I am not going to post any posts from there.

Although it has passed many years since our visit, it is still in our memory. Capri is an island, where You could visit once in the life time. Same words are valid also for Vesuvius and Pompeii. I could visit Pompeii once more, because I love history and it was full of awesome history.

Welcome to walk with us thru my photos in these three places!

    • Hello Curt.

This part of Italy is beautiful. My highlights on this trip were Vesuvius and Pompeii. Capri is beautiful, but expensive. It was in Capri and in Liechtenstein, where we have enjoyed our most expensive coffees! Thank You leaving Your kind comment.

      Have a good day!

      Comment by Sartenada — December 19, 2018 @ 08:13 | Reply

      • Peggy and I have been to Pompeii, and were fascinated by the city with its volcano still looming. We din’t make it to Capri. As for coffee, I remember going to Europe many years ago and being shocked to pay a dollar a cup when I was paying $.25 at home. 🙂 Prices have done nothing but skyrocket here and in Europe since! –Curt

        • Hello Curt.

Pompeii was awesome and Vesuvius to us. It was in October, 2007 when we visited Liechtenstein. One cup of coffee was 5 Euros. Using todays Exchange course, it makes 5.68 USD. At those days it was higher in Dollars. Thank You leaving Your kind comment again.

          Happy holidays!

Thank You. Italy is nice start point to visit Europe. Of course, there are many places, but finally everything depends on everybody’s own desires. My favorite places are Azores and Madeira. Both are islands. I have to say that if You want to experience something new, then Visit the northern parts of Finland. Why? Simple reason is to experience “white nights”. Can You imagine that there in mid-summer sun never sets? It is awesome experience, believe me

Here is the southernmost place to experience it:

Also the small streets, the different small shops etc.
It was rather enjoying and interesting to get an impression of this Italian town in the South!

Matti, I hope you and Anja spent a wonderful Christmas time. Have some relaxing days now! I’m sending warm regards and my very best wishes for a gorgeous, peaceful and healty New Year.

  35. The houses up so high, the buildings so close together, and the water— oh, my, gosh, so much water! You must’ve had quite the experience in Italy. I’m always fascinated with the old and new side by side.

    • Hello Deli.

Thank You commenting. No, we do not have so much experience travelling in Italy. Before these places quick visit in Milano and Rome.

      Have a good day!
