Vacation in Las Palmas4 / Vacaciones en Las Palmas4 / Vacances à Las Palmas4 / Férias em Las Palmas4

In English:

Walking to surfers Paradise El Confital and beyond in Las Palmas

This post shows my photos from visits to the area El Confital where we visited twice. El Confital is surfers’ paradise – surprise ? The road starts from there, where the beach of Las Canteras ends. The road sinuates between houses, which are near on the edges of rough volcanic seashore, consumed by the ravages of time. Ferocious surges beat the shore revealing that during low tide surfing is impossible.

After the asphalt surface ends, the road continues as a sand road. Before reaching, El Confital road is quarried thru solid rock and covered by steel sheets. The distance to the surf beach is not long, but it requires from time to time photography stops.

Our second visit, we walked as far as it was possible. The sand road ended to the barbed wire fence. On the way, back we decided to make a short hike passing a narrow path on the slope leading back to Las Palmas.

But besides these waves I – of course – enjoyed to see the rough, even a bit rugged landscape of Gran Canaria and this particular surfer’s paradise El Confital (great shots!). Nice to read your different captions! I liked it a lot!

I also would like to wish you and Anja a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! I’m looking rather forward to reading you again in 2018! Thanks for your great blog series about Gran Canaria/Las Palmas!
