    • Hi Carol.

Thank You. I am “son of summer”, but winter / snow gives great variety to life. As You saw in some of my photos, we walked on a frozen lake. On the lake, there was snow and in the snow ski tracks. This is just the best part of winter for us: to walk on the lake. Man can walk, bike and ski on lakes. If You have time check my old post and discover funs of winter:

      Walking on frozen lake.

      • Sartenada, I can relate to your using your heavy Nikon as I too love the old fashion way of taking pictures, but I must admit even though digital is faster and easier, I do miss film….I don’t own a cell phone so I don’t know what I’m missing by taking pictures that way.. But, your wife’s photos with her phone were very delightful and if I owned one I think I’d get spoiled (and love it) very quickly in this new age of technology we live in…

Have a wonderful weekend as well…

          • Sartenada, I’m so happy to hear that. I too have a love of books. I’ve always wanted to be able to read other languages too, but sadly for me my brain only goes for the English. My birth parents were Spanish and I tried to learn the language to fulfill a missing link in my life. I was raised by English only speaking folks. But, I’m honored to have had such an upbringing, so my life has been full without regrets. Take care and fully enjoy the experience of many different languages. Have a peaceful Saturday… Bluebird

  30. Looks absolutely beautiful! I just read all the enthusiastic reactions in the comments and would like to agree completely. I really love the thin ice layer on the lake, the frozen landscape (the plants!), the clear sky as well as this perfect combination of blue and white. Anja took a lot of very nice shots!. Amazing that a cell phone can be such a suitable replacement – if you don’t have a camera with you or even in general. At least in many cases. I suppose they won’t be able to handle all situations and circumstances outside as good as for example your Nikon (as you mentioned already in a commentary above when you talked about the ISO range).

So thanks to Anja for taking these stunning winter photos and thanks to you for showing them here, Matti! Nice to see you on this occasion again on some of these pictures!

    Have a nice Advent season!
