It was sunny summer morning 2014 when we decided to drive to the small municipality called Kangasniemi; freely translated “Moorland cape”. Kangasniemi is small, but very beautiful due to its surrounding lakes. In this post You see: Blue glimmering lakes, some street views, Church of Kangasniemi, quilts and patchworks, huge traditional coffee pot and again lakes.

Era una mañana soleada de verano 2014 cuando nos decidimos para conducir nuestro carro al pequeño municipio llamado Kangasniemi; traducido libremente “Cabo de páramo”. Kangasniemi es pequeño realmente, pero es muy hermoso conocioa por sus lagos de alrededor. Vos verá estos: Lagos azules relucientes, algunas vistas de la calle, Iglesia de Kangasniemi, exposición de colhas, grande cafetera tradicional y más lagos.

C’était le matin ensoleillé d’été 2014 lorsque nous avons décidé de conduire à la petite municipalité appelée Kangasniemi; traduit librement “Cap de lande”. Kangasniemi est petite, mais très belle en raison de ses lacs environnants. Are there a lot of mosquitoes by the lake already? I am seriously concerned for the upcoming months as I am allergic to those buggers!

  At this moment there are none. My photos are from 2014 and first mosquitoes will occur in the beginning of June. There are very few mosquitos by the lakes. Their appearance varies very much around in Finland, mostly man can meet them in spruce forests and on swamps and their environment. Thank you for Your comment.

  Birches grow all over in Finland from the South to the North and even to the North of the Arctic Circle. In the North we call them dwarf birches, because they are small. On which area You live in Japan? Thank you for Your comment.

What a lovely post you have here. I adored looking at all of the quilts, and was amazed by the birds made out of twigs.. I must give this a try very soon, as my back yard is littered with these types of twigs from the winter.. Love, love this post so much.. Thanking you kindly for the beauty…

That is a very beautiful little town — thanks for taking us along with you. The interior of the church is magnificent, and you did a great job of capturing the beauty in your photos. I think the coffee pot would hold more coffee than even I could drink.

What a beautiful landscape and what a gorgeous sunshine at that time when you visited Kangasniemi. The lakes with the reflections of the sun in the water, the fresh green of the trees … simply wonderful!
Besides I enjoyed to see some more quilts and patchworks (my favourite: the pillow looking like the front of a house) and what I really liked very much (apart from all the other things mentioned): the birds at the wooden fence! Those made of these small twigs of willow or birch. Very expressive!

Thanks for this new excursion and your beautiful photographs!

It is a wonderful church. Though the church is a dark image, it is easy to get close very brightly here.
Because the town where I live in is warm, there is no white birch. I long very much.
The art object of the bird and the art object of the kettle are very interesting. The art object of the kettle is in front of a Kanazawa station, but may be the same writer.

There are many lakes in Finland, they are very beautiful.
Especially, the sparkling of light on the surface of water is very gorgeous.

If You’ll visit someday Finland, then to find real peace and quietness, it can be found in our Northernmost part called Lapland. It is where the mind rests. WHAT A COMPOSITE! of indoor, outdoor, one can vicariously do/see/feel all this thru’ you! i really FELT like gettin’ on my bike and riding thru’ all of that, soaking it in — in my mind it’s a LONG ride! (and “b” of course, after the ride would LOVE to see all the cultural and indoor stuff! — you and your posts are truly a treasure !
