This quilt and patchwork show was held in Jokioinen (125 km / 77.7mi from Helsinki) in summer 2012. It differs thereby from those quilt shows which I have presented here that nearly all of these quilts could be also “paintings”. There is a lot of humor in them and my favorite are those presenting “funny” cows. The variety of quilts is great or what do You think about this content: “national landscapes, garden, lakes, our national epic imagined landscape, flowers, landscape from the Bible, imaginary fairy-tale forest, desert, landscape, sailing, dragon, stylized flowers, street view with houses, autumn leaves, cows peeking out of the window of a barn, birds swimming in a lake, funny cows, home garden, small houses on countryside, flowers in a vase , cats, flowery waistcoat for a woman”.

Este Exposición de Colchas y almazuelas se pasó en Jokioinen (125 km / 77.7mi desde Helsinki) en el verano de 2012. La exposición tiene differencias con mis expocisiones anteriores aqui. Hay una gran cantidad de humor con estas colchas y mis favoritos son las que presentan las vacas “chistosas”. La variedad de colchas es grande, o ¿Qué piensan usted acerca de estos: “paisajes nacionales, jardines, lagos, nuestra paisaje nacional de mitología, flores, paisaje de la Biblia, desierto, vela, dragón, flores estilizadas, vista de la calle con las casas, hojas de otoño, vacas asomándose por la ventana de un granero, pájaros que nadan en un lago, vacas divertidas, jardín de casa, pequeñas casas de campo, las flores en un florero, gatos, chaleco de flores para una mujer”.

Cette exposition de courtepointes et Almazuelas a eu le lieu à Jokioinen (125 km / 77.7mi de Helsinki) à l’été 2012. Les différences d’exposition avec mon expositions précédentes ici. Il y a beaucoup d’humour parmi ces courtepointes et mes favoris sont celles avec les vaches “drôles”. La variété de courtepointes est grande, ou ce que vous pensez de ces “paysages nationaux, des jardins, des lacs, notre mythologie nationale du paysage, fleurs, paysage de la Bible, désert, voile, dragon, fleurs stylisées, vue sur la rue avec des maisons, des feuilles d’automne, les vaches regardant furtivement par la fenêtre d’une étable, oiseaux nageant dans un lac, vaches drôles, jardin potager, petit jardin, fleurs dans un vase, chats, gilet avec fleurs d’une femme”.

  Thank You for commenting so nicely. I am glad that my post inspired You to consider quilting. Quilting is changing as we also, but maybe in them there is some kind of Nordic touch.
  
  We made a road trip to the North of the Arctic Circle, ten days by walking and hiking on Arctic hills. I shot 1417 photos and in my future posts there are 545 photos. First post will be on Friday on next January and the number of posts is thirteen.

Lovely art works! You are right in that these are quite different from what one would normally see, not so much “patterns” as they are “images”. Some are really funny and others just plain gorgeous!

Dear Matti, je n’ai pas de mots pour exprimer mon admiration devant tant de belles créations. Tellement de talent, de créativité, de Patience ! Les vaches sont adorables, bien sûr mais j’aime aussi beaucoup ce bouquet de roses en crazy, beige et blanc, la dame au bord du lac, la technique de la mer de Makinen Toula, le bateau de Vikings et les bouleaux et encore plus. Les rangées de maisons sont ravissantes pour utiliser toutes sortes de scraps. J’adore cette exposition et te remercie vivement de l’avoir partagée avec nous tous. Un tout bon dimanche à toi et à ton épouse. Est-ce elle qui t’entraîne dans ces fabuleuses expos ?;)

I have really enjoyed your photos of the quilt show. I was going to pick a favorite, but I couldn’t even begin! There is such a huge variety, and ALL are quite imaginative and expertly crafted. I have a great appreciation for all fiber arts although I am not a quilter. (Mostly dye fabric and yarn and knit by hand and machine) Excellent post and congratulations to all the people who produced these fabulous quilts.

Thank you so much for reminding me of this post (that I missed while I was traveling in South Dakota). Those quilts are absolutely breathtaking!!! I tried, but failed, to choose 1 or 2 favorites! Love these quilts! Like painting with fabric. So much detail. My favorite is the one with the house in the middle and the flowers around the border.
