I really admire your wife’s talent and patience to create those bracelets. The beads look tiny and I can imagine the very delicate and precise work it needs for such a beautiful result ! Congratulations to your wife and thank you for sharing her art with us.

Bonjour Isa.
Thank You. My wife started with big beads and during years she passed to the tiny ones. You who are living in the middle of Europe, then check in some store how beautiful beads are made by Swarovski jewellery. In Frankfurt in Kaufhof they sell Swarovski crystal beads and one excellent shop was in Capri. I think that in Switzerland also there must be Swarovski shops. They are too expensive for ordinary people and that is why my wife cannot buy them. So next time, when You see Swarovski shop, pop in there to admire their beads out of curiosity.
Patience is needed as You said to make these, so is it also valid for Quilting and You know very well.

Your wife makes beautiful bracelets. I don’t think I would have the talent (or patience) to do anything like this. Thank you for sharing your wife’s wonderful bracelets with us.

An interesting process! What detailed and painstaking work; a combination of talent, art and skill! The bracelet is very beautiful! Does your wife craft them under magnification of any kind?
Comment by montucky — April 29, 2011 @ 20:21 |
Hi Montucky.
Thank You. You are so right when commenting. My answer is yes to Your question. She is not using it not so much, but sometimes she really needs it. The magnifying glass is quite big on the table and it has a lamp too. During winter is very useful.
Comment by sartenada — April 30, 2011 @ 09:31 |
Absolutely beautiful. You both have such skill and patience: your wife for doing the beadwork and you for breaking down the steps into images.

Hi Sherri Lynn Wood.
So nice that You popped in here. Well, at this moment my wife loves tiny beads, because they are really a challenge to make pieces of jewellery. My wife feels that beading is excellent counterbalance to her daily stressful work. Thank You.

Hello Anne.
I am so glad that You liked my post. Personally I love that people are doing things; are they made by hands or not, it does matter, because I do not love “passive persons”. Photographing nice example of excellent hobby. Through it one can discover an unknown world to him / her until now.

Hello Cindy.
Thank You. I always appreciate comments when it is concerning hand made things. Yours is masterpiece also. I am sure that my wife is not starting to sell; she makes them just for fun, to learn and to enjoy the happiness of learning.
Have a lovely day!
Comment by sartenada — October 3, 2011 @ 17:13 |
Sartenada, your wife should try selling these on http://www.etsy.com. It’s a site for handmade works of art (and supplies as well). This way, she can price it at a price that is fair to her. I used to sell stuff on eBay, but it’s just not worth it anymore. Bidders expect to get things for $5 with shipping! I like etsy.com much better. I’m going to open a store on it soon. There are artists, crafters, jewelers, etc., from all over the world selling on etsy.com. Some are even making a living full time creating their artwork!

Thank You. It is very understandable! Some blogs have so many interesting posts to be found and sometimes one cannot find them or to have an idea that they even exists. I guess that for example You do not have any idea that we made in Finland Allure of the Seas – world’s biggest cruise ship. Personally I take a look at older posts, not the newest one to find posts which have interest for me.

Thanks so much for visiting and liking my blogs about Mexico. These bracelets you make are gorgeous! And I really appreciate your showing how to make them. I had a friend from Armenia who used to make eyeglasses holders that looked similar to these. I enjoy crafts and artwork of all kinds, which is one of the reasons I like this part of Mexico so much. The people are very creative, especially in textiles, pottery, carving, and tin work. Almost everything is extremely colorful, including some of the food!
