Park of Aulanko / Parque de Aulanko / Parc de Aulanko

In English:

This place called Aulanko is one hour train ride from Helsinki nearby the town of Hämeenlinna. Nearby the park there is a famous hotel by same place which has been stage in many Finnish films.

The park has guided serpentine paths which are passing through woods and passing from time to time to some small lakes. If one is tired, then there are benches, gazebos and of course cafeteria. Most of all I like small tower to admire surrounding landscape.

This park has been visited since 1882 by visitors who are coming back from time to time, as I also.

  2. I agree, this is a very special place. Is the tower mainly as a look-out or is there room inside for a small cafe or museum? When I compare your photos with mine, it is obvious that you live in a much older country. I think everything is a bit ‘rougher’ or ‘wilder’ here in Canada. But how do you take such amazing photographs? Every blog is full of really remarkable photos. Do you wait for really good light or do you use filters or something. Sorry, I just take photos, I don’t know much about photography.

    • Hi Jackie.

The small café is just beside the tower, no museum. Within 2 kilometers there is really very famous hotel with all servises as for example with golf. You asked: “Do you wait for really good light or do you use filters or something?” Oh no, I also just take photos, but in many cases I have to wait sunny days, because it is not a matter of course. Actually I have been taking photos since 1952 and made a lot of videos, but they all are “amateur videos”. This place called Aulanko nearby the town of Hämeenlinna and its castle is very nearby my home, only 55 kilometers. I visit this town many times instead of Helsinki, because I can drive direct to the center and find easily parking place for my car.

I enjoy Your photos, it is sure, they have good quality and what is the best, You have interesting topics. To know other countries with culture and landscapes, blogs are just the excellent way to show these things. Everyone of us has really something interesting to show to others, only one must be with open eyes and mind.

      Happy Easter.

  3. Good morning, Matti,
I am delighted that once again you show us beautiful places and images. The pavilion, with its blue roofs, which act very friendly and welcoming for a small break. The view of the lake is very beautiful. The interior of the tower gives the feeling of standing on the spot. The red tower looks very interesting. All images convey that feeling that it is a beautiful place. I do understand that you visit this place very much. The color reproduction is very natural and clear. I am glad that you be back. I look every day in your blog and look forward to the next pictures. A few days ago I sent a mail. I wish you and Anja, beautiful sunny Easter days. Thanks for your nice comment. Dear greetings Christel

    • Hello Montucky.

I am glad that You like this small park. That is funny that the tower is very low, but it is however so cosy.

Happy Easter to You and Your family.
