The church of Lohja.
This stone church is situated at 60 kilometres / 37 miles distance from Helsinki. It was built in 15th century. Inside church is full of pictures, on all walls. So, if You some day visit this church, take Your time. Church of Lohja is dedicated to St. Lawrence. The bell tower has two parts. Lower one is from medieval time and the upper one, which is wooden is from 1740. In many photos You can admire historic shoe models!
In photo number 20 You can see young French student walking on altar. She studied Finnish churches last summer during five weeks.

Esta iglesia de piedra está situada en distancia de 60 kilómetros / 37 millas de Helsinki. Fue construido en el siglo XV. La iglesia interior está llena de imágenes, en todas paredes. Así, si Usted algún día visitaréis esta iglesia, toma vuestra tiempo. La iglesia de Lohja está dedicada al San Lorenzo. El campanario tiene dos partes. This church is again very different from the other churches I saw in your blog. The warm colors of the wall and ceiling paintings are very well expressed. The interior of the church does not get as much daylight as the other of churches. Even the color of the seats (benches) is very stark in black on the warm tones. But it blends together in a miraculous way. Until now, I liked all the churches I saw in your blog, very good. My favorite church remains the Snow Church. She is a beautiful dream in your bright colors. I am grateful that I was allowed to visit the site and look forward to the next. I wish you and Anya, as always, what you nice people as you wish, good luck and health to your daily routes. I also thank sincerely for your kind comments on my web page, and your loyalty. Sartenada is meaning something like this: “Sizzling skillet or full skillet or maybe the best one: As much meat or fish as a frying-pan can hold”, something like that. I found that word from Spanish dictionary and I thought that it could be easy to pronounce in many different laguages. Happy weekend!

Merci encore. Mon fils, ma fille, mon petit-fils et ma petite-fille peut vivent á Lohja. Quant à ces images sur les murs, j’ai remarqué une grande variété de chaussures. Cela a été très intéressant pour moi de m’étonner les différentes modèles de chaussures.

Superbes. Ils sont différents et tous beaux plein,de couleurs cela chance vraiment des français. Et ce que je n’avais pas remarqué c’est qu’ils sont sépares de l’église!
Est qu’ils fonctionnent toujours? Manuellement ou électroniquement.
A l’intérieur c’est juste un escalier pour atteindre les cloches?

The Church of Lohja is extraordinary! The paintings are so beautiful! I can imagine that studying Finnish Churches must be really interesting to foreigners and to students from abroad. Churches – and particularly the interior of churches – differ in each country (sometimes extremely) – although they might have the same religious tendency or were built in the same century/decade. Your French student must have been rather impressed.
And your photos are stunning! One can recognize so many details! Gorgeous!

Thank You. Very nice that You loved this church full of wall art. My son, gaughter, grandson and granddaughter live in Lohja, so I knew in advance how beautiful the church is. There are some churches in Finland in which walls are full of art. Last summer we found one. We had “hard” with this young student. It took nine hours of drive, eating and five churches; my post sometimes next year. The last church was on the area where we lived (Nurmijärvi) before moving to our new home town Mikkeli. The Church of Nurmijärvi is quite old wooden church and light inside.

Salut Maly.
La jeune étudiante a fait une thèse pour l’université de Paris. Elle a passé un mois en Finlande et a voyagé du sud au nord. La raison pour laquelle elle est venue en Finlande est la mienne, car avant l’époque WordPress, je les présentais sur blogspot. Elles existent toujours, je viens de le vérifier. J’ai aussi sur Youtube 280 photos d’église en 13 posts.
