  1. Bonjour Matti,

    Bon-week-end.

  3. Our family in Scotland has had a lot of snow this week, too. But here in Nova Scotia it rained all last night – rain like I’ve never seen before and almost all our snow has gone. If it had only snowed, we would have had nice deep snow like you.

    • Hi Jackie.

After having about nine weeks very cold and after having snowing so heavily, I am full of it. :) Well, spring is coming surely. Today is is promised that next weekend air temperature will stay in zero (Celsius) or above. I love snow and different seasons, but to wait until all the snow has gone, takes time. Happy weekend.

  4. Good evening, Matti
I am surprised at so much snow this month. I imagine it visually, how much work you had it, shoveling it all. The walls of snow beside the roads, can recognize it. The sun was their contribution that your images again were very nice. The color reproduction is brilliant. The winter is very stubborn and still will take time to bring snow. Here in Cologne, everything is free of snow, until now. Temperatures already rose to 11 + degrees Celsius. The snow bells are to see. ” I hope that soon the spring, also comes to you. I am grateful that I could look at these beautiful pictures and look forward to the next. I wish you and Anya, good luck and health to your daily routes. Thank you for your comments.
    Dear greetings Christel

    • Hello Christel.

You sayid so nicely: “winter is very stubborn”. Yes this winter is just so. Also there is one oddness, we have more snow than in the North! During normal winter is vice versa. For example in town of Kouvola (quite in South) there is snow 80 centimeters.

      Happy weekend.

  5. My goodness that is a lot, a lot of snow! A winter wonderland. Lovely images portraying all laden in heavy snow in the swirls in shadow and light, and whew, the shoveling of tunnels through the snow. I bet you’ll have a magnificent spring from having all this moisture.

    • Hi Anna.

I was lucky with my photos, because the day after blizzard was so sunny and when taking photos quite early shadows are beautiful and long on snow.

  7. Lovely, photos! We are buried in snow, too, but I think you’ve gotten a little more then we have here in Michigan. So pretty, but so much work.

    • Hello Kateri.

Thank You visiting and commenting. I am so glad that my photos pleased You. I have nothing agains to shovel, but the only thing is that I am already waiting so hard for spring. We have had a very cold winter which lasted without interruption about nine weeks and is is abnormal. I have warmed our fireplace every day and burned firewood nearly nine cubic meters.

That morning I started to shovel already at 05:50 in the morning, because I my wife had to go to her job by her car and I had to clear off snow in front of garage. I always think hat shoving is one kind of “gym” which keeps me in good fitness. This kind of thinking is a positive attitude in life.

  9. I’ll never complain again about the few inches of snow we get from time to time. Your shovel says it all.

    Comment by Preston — February 28, 2010 @ 14:04 | Reply

    • Hi Preston.

Nice comment thank You. I am complaining nor, just trying to tell my thoughts. I have that problem at our gate area when snowplough comes from the wood, our gate is the first “hole” where all the snow is coming in. It pushes huge amount of snow into the large area of our gate right into our yard that it just what takes time to shovel. Shovelling in other places is piece of cake or let us say like “child’s play”. That was the problem in that morning when I went early to shovel clear first our gate area and then the lane to my wife’s car. I continued later shovelling twice. To shovel is good for a man, because it keeps fit him! :)

  10. I just love how untouched snow looks – it is so beautiful!

We got a big storm in Western New York on the 25th of February (actually, it lasted about 4 days!). We were covered in a couple feet of snow (over my knees!) and were shoveling like crazy, too! Sounds like life in Finland is not much different than life in the US!
